Cranksgiving – Boulder – 2014

Are you ready for the 3rd annual CRANKSGIVING? Cranksgiving is a charity bike ride that began in 1999, organized by New York City bike messengers. Food is collected at grocery store “checkpoints” and then after being collected at the end of the race, will be donated to a local food bank. All kinds of cyclists are welcome! There is no set course, and you can ride at your own pace. Cranksgiving – Boulder is an effort by Boulder Cycle Sport to give back to those in need during the holidays. Furthermore, this event is to bring community awareness to support locally and independently owned business. With your help we do for the community what on-line stores can’t! HOW DOES IT WORK? On race day participants will receive a map/manifest 15 minutes before the start of the race. The map/manifest will have designated grocery store locations marked and a shopping list. Riders are to go to the grocery store checkpoints and […]

It’s Time To Give

On the morning of October 14th, 2014 flames engulfed the mobile home of Jennifer Jimenez and her two young sons Jaylen and Alex. Tragically, Alex (age 2) was unable to make it out and passed away. Jennifer and other neighbors tried their best to fight their way into the burning home, but because the flames were too hot and the smoke too intense, they couldn’t get inside to rescue Alex. Jennifer and her son Jaylen were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Once fire fighters arrived, the roof had collapsed, making it nearly impossible to enter the home. Alex and his family are beloved people of the Boulder Meadows Community. A fundraising effort is underway for financial support, household items, furniture, food, and clothing. Here at Boulder Cycle Sport we are asking our customers to help us raise a mere $800 to purchase and replace three bikes, helmets and locks that were destroyed in the fire. One […]
